Bio.
Patience, understanding and integrity are the attributes that Bluebird Real Estate Agent Lisa Lenander brings to her real estate profession. Whether advocating or negotiating for a client, Lisa will help her clients navigate the ever changing process of buying or selling real estate in Colorado.
Having been a Buyer for vacant land and a Seller of a custom home herself, Lisa understands the many emotions a client can incur at one time. She draws upon her own experiences to help clients stay grounded throughout the transaction process. During negotiations, Lisa remains calm and looks outside the box for resolutions to objections that come up in the course of a transaction. She looks to guide her clients through the transaction by presenting documents, and resources and connections with other industry professionals to help a client make the best possible decision for their unique situation.
She is a forever student of life and real estate and looks to learn something new every day whether it is a new detail about a challenging negotiation or hearing about a ski line she has not skied yet in the Phoenix Bowl. She loves to take the continuing education classes that are required for the renewal of her license and has earned several real estate designations including GRI-Graduate Realtor Institute, RSPS-Resort & Second Home Property Specialist, CNE-Certified Negotiation Expert, SRES-Senior Real Estate Specialist, SFR-Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource and recently earned her PIC-Planning Institute of Colorado Certificate.
Lisa has lived in Mt. Crested Butte since 1988 and currently serves on the Mt. Crested Butte Planning Commission and enjoys learning about the upcoming projects and planned unit developments.
Lisa previously served on the Gunnison/Crested Butte Association of Realtors (2018-2019) and prior to serving on the Board, she served on the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) committee from 2009-2015. She enjoys volunteering in her community and previously sat on the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2009-2012 and served as the Treasurer from 2011-2012.
Personal.
Lisa fell in love with skiing when she was 12 years old. One Christmas she inherited her cousins’ skis and boots and was hooked on skiing the moment she put on the gear and went downhill in her yard. She competed in Downhill Ski Racing in college and realized early on that she had to live in the mountains so she could ski every day possible.
While attending the University of Duluth-Minnesota, Crested Butte Mountain Resort visited her school on a tour recruiting college students from the Mid-West to come and work at the resort for a winter. She interviewed and got the job as a Lift Operator. She graduated in 1982 with a BA in Communications, worked a year in Minneapolis in the graphic communications industry and in the Fall of 1983, she packed up her truck and moved to Crested Butte sight unseen. She will tell you it was the best thing she has ever done as skiing and the mountains continue to be a focal point in her life.
Prior to earning her real estate license in 2004, she was a Manufacturer’s Sales Representative in the souvenir and gift industry for 17 years before deciding to move into a full time career selling real estate. Her life as a road warrior took her to other summer and winter destination resorts and National Parks throughout the states of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Utah. Through her sales experience she honed the skills of good listener, attention to detail, problem solver and has learned to adapt too many situations. With a strong background in customer service, it seemed real estate was a logical choice.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time outdoors downhill, telemark, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winters and hiking and golfing in the summers.
